It’s ‘chocks away’ and onwards and upwards for Cornwall’s Camel Valley. as their 2013 Camel Valley brut sparkling wine is welcomed aboard by BA Cabin crew (picture attached). The Cornish sparkler made by Sam Lindo will be served in British Airways First Class.The order, the biggest in the history of Camel Valley, followed a blind tasting of Champagnes and sparkling wines overseen by Andy Sparrow, head of wine retail at Bibendum wine distributors. Said Andy: ‘Camel Valley got this on merit and scored really highly in the tasting. Well done to them.’Added Camel Valley joint founder Bob Lindo: ‘We are thrilled and delighted and now top of my bucket list is to drink a glass in First Class myself.’It’s been a momentous year for Camel Valley, also having their wines served at the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace for the King and Queen of Spain, hosted by HM the Queen. The following day, the wine was served at Clarence House by the Prince of Wales to celebrate the birthday of the Duchess of Cornwall.
