2022 Camel Valley Bacchus Dry
Unique English style in the best possible way. Characteristic aromas of hedgerows and apple orchards, bright lemon green in colour, crisp
elderflower and grapefruit flavours, medium length, good intensity, with a very fresh clean finish and a hint of sweetness.
Excellent to drink now but will remain fresh for up to 5 years developing more honeyed characters. This wine pairs very well with seafood, particularly shellfish, and fresh summer salads.
2022 Decanter World Wine Awards, awarded Silver Medal 93 points.
Matthew Jukes,Vineyard magazine May 2022: I have followed this magnificent winery since it opened its doors back in 1989, and I have only ever tasted Camel Valley wines that make me smile. Camel Valley made the first genuinely great Bacchus I tasted, and four years ago, when this magazine launched its first issue, I featured 2016 Camel Valley Bacchus on this very page. The new 2021 release is sensational. A pinpoint accurate nettle, and elderflower theme features a line of citrus electricity down its spine that sparks your taste buds into action and never lets go. This wine sums up the flavour of a beautiful, verdant, sunny English summer in just one glass.
TV’s Olly Smith, Mail on Sunday, 2 July 2016’: ‘Bask in the diamond purity of Camel Valley Bacchus 2014 - answer to the Crown Jewels’
A distinctive fruity bouquet and a grapey flavour. Perfect with seafood. Recommended by Fiona Beckett, Guardian Magazine 7th May 2011 and featured in the Michel Roux TV series.
